BREWING (OR GROOMING) WITCHES

WITCH YOO--HEE

It's been in my hard drive for months and I've been reluctant to watch it because well...admittedly, i'm still in a fix for deep and downright depressing k-dramas. But once Ghrei and I started it, it's just been one downhill-uphill laugh riot and "aaaawwww" trip! The characters are all likeable and the story is a bit cliché but you wouldn't notice these elements as they are cleverly masked with the fresher parts.

It was also the first time that I actually wanted both second leads, male and female, to actually end up with their respective love interests. If so, ruining the usual 'unusual' guy falling for the 'unusual' girl. But both second leads (DEnnis O and Jun Hye Bin) were just too damn easy to feel for!

It was also fun to watch familiar faces (from Princess Hours Goong and My Girl) gathered in this one.

SYNOPSIS
As the director of her father's advertising company, Ma Yoo Hee (Han Ga In) is known as a witch for her ruthless, no nonsense character. After a string of failed attempts to hire a housekeeper, she (literally) runs into Chae Moo Ryong (Jae Hee), ex-medical student turned aspiring chef. As a way to work off his debt for crashing into her car, he agrees to become her housekeeper and personal love affairs coach for one month. Gladly, he gives her a makeover that attracts both her old friend Johnny Kruger (Dennis Oh) and her first love Joon Ha (Kim Jeong Hoon). Despite having a girlfriend, Sung Mi (Jun Hye Bin), Moo Ryong eventually finds himself falling for Yoo Hee.

A love to kill/ I jukilnomui sarang (2005)

a love to kill videos

ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE BEST!!!

In this KBS production, Bok Ku (Rain) is an orphan who has sworn to spend the rest of his life with his childhood friend Han Da Jung (Kim Sa-rang). She saved Bok Ku’s life many years ago and got second degree burns because of it; this causes mixed feelings for Bok Ku – pity, gratitude and love. Bok Ku also carries with him the longing for his brother, whom he has not seen in ten years.

And so when he appears again, he was both happy (obviously) and angry (feeling betrayed that his brother left him). All this is cut short when his brother jumps off the rooftop of the building where he lives and soon, Bok Ku figures out the reason why – a misunderstood love affair with a budding actress, Cha Eunn Suk (Sin Min-ah).
However, much against his will Bok Ku falls in love with his own brother's ex-girlfriend, even though he vowed to exact revenge on what he believes to be her sins against his brother.

Full House (Drama - 2004)

After being swindled by her two friends, Han Ji-eun (Hye-kyo Song) realizes that she has nowhere to go and nothing left to her name except a luggage, and her passion for writing. Worse, her house, which she inherited from her father, was sold to obnoxious and self-minding actor Lee Yeong-jae (Rain), to whom she owes a debt following a series of complicated events during their first meeting.
And so the actor grudgingly takes her on as household help. This is the beginning of the two’s love/hate/is it love/is it work relationship. But then, when the famous actor gets tired of all the misleading rumours about him and aggravated by his one-sided love affair with close friend Kang Hye-won (Eun-jeong Han), he takes it further by proposing a contract marriage with Ji-eun.
What follows can be quite predictable but, then, that’s part of what Kdramas, or any drama’s charm is. Your dreams for the characters can either be realized or bashed.

True enough, Ji-eun starts to develop feelings for the actor who, she realizes, have many good qualities as well. Add to the mix Yu Min-hyeok (Seong-su Kim), Yeong-jae’s friend, who is in love with Han Ji-eun.
Throughout the series, there are slow moments, but also some really funny scenes. I was buoyed mostly by my desire for a happy ending (which was granted, with all parties involved finding a sense of happiness around them) , and by Rain’s comic ability (whenever he lets it out).

SAD MOVIE

Ahn Su-jeong (Lim Soo-jeong), a sign language newscaster for the local tv station is both proud of her firefighter boyfriend and scared to her wits because of it. Lee Jin-wu (Jung Woo), Su-jeong’s boyfriend, is torn up about how to propose marriage to her. Ahn Su-eun (Sin Min-ah), is the hearing-impaired sister of Su-jeong , and works as a costumed park mascot where she meets and falls in love with aspiring painter , Sang-gyu (Lee Ki-Woo).
Jung Ha-suk (Cha Tae-hyeong) just got dumped and decided to start a “Hire Me to Break-Up With your boy/girlfriend” online service which helps him heal in the process lets him meet he. And then there's Yeom Ju-young (Yeom Jeong-ah) who is diagnosed with terminal cancer and realizes just how much her son is longing for her, with the help of Ha-suk.

What the movie grandly accomplishes with its simplicity is showing how life can be so complicated and yet so simple at the same time. With the intertwining plots that push the movie forward, I was delighted, surprised, confused, nervous, elated, and all sorts inside. But all throughout, tearful. Not just because of sadness, as the title implies. But also out of joy.

Writer/director Kwon Jong Gwan also did an amazing job with the storytelling. And kudos for the excellent star cast choice! It’s the perfect Asian twin of the Christmas flick Love, Actually.

I can’t wait to watch this movie again! lol

i guess a personality as fragmented as mine have to have a lot of names:

name/who started calling me by that name:
penpen - gramma
cris - charmaine (first girlfriend)
kuya - jing
archangel - school newspaper
angel - ateneo mates and makati pals
haneul - jong, my korean friend

p.s. haneul means "SKY" and jong said..."that's what the world is to you....like you can do , be , accomplish anything... and that's what you are to everyone else - a person that symbolizes hope..."
